Professor Christopher Howard Raine is an established consultant ENT surgeon at Bradford Royal Infirmary, United Kingdom, with a special interest in pediatric and adult otology. He is clinical director and lead for the regional Yorkshire Auditory Implant Services, which was established in 1990 for cochlear implants and in recent years added aspects of bone conduction hearing devices and middle ear implants. The Bradford Temporal Bone course is run twice yearly in addition to regular lecturing at a national and international level. He has also served as chairman of the British Cochlear Implant Group (BCIG).

His active research prospectively evaluates indications of bone conduction implants and middle ear implants. In a multi country prospective study, he investigates cognitive outcomes with cochlear implants in adults over 55 years. His most recent cochlear implant studies include preservation of hearing, benefits of bilateral cochlear implants in children, and hearing implant solution in children with special needs.
