Congratulations! You have completed the first of three lessons.
Now you know about the importance of hearing with both ears in everyday life. You hear directions because your brain evaluates the differences in volume between your ears. However, a sound wave from the right is not only louder in the right ear, but also arrives there earlier. This makes it easier to separate voices coming from different directions.
Would you also like to learn about how our ear can distinguish between high-, medium-, and low -pitched sounds? What happens when you can no longer hear all frequencies? What does it sound like when you turn individual frequencies on and off?
